Welcome To DON BOSCO COLLEGE HIGHER SECONDARY SECTION– TURA

Welcome to Don Bosco College Higher Secondary Section- Tura, an educational institution of the Catholic Church, belonging to the global Don Bosco Society and managed by the “Salesians of Don Bosco - North East India”, headquartered in Guwahati, Assam. The Higher Secondary Section was an integral part of Don Bosco College Tura which was established in 1987 with the intention of bringing higher education within the reach of the people of Garo Hills. The management of the college decided to de-link the Higher Secondary Section from the main college campus in 2014 with a view to ensure quality education at the Plus Two level. Today, the strength of the teaching staff in the Higher Secondary Section is 37 and the college caters to over 1300 students. The college continues to ceaselessly strive for quality education. The College is named after St. John Bosco, popularly known as Don Bosco, the founder of the religious and educational society “Salesians of Don Bosco.” Don Bosco was born of a very poor family in 1815, near Turin, Italy. By dint of hard work and heroic sacrifices he became a priest in 1841.
