Principal’s Message
What is next after class XII examinations? CUET, NEET, JEE, BITSAT, ICAR, AILET, GATE, HSEE, NIFT and similar other Entrance tests have become the gateway to enter into higher studies. Gone are the days when students could walk into the portals of higher educational institutions without such tests. Today, no student can think of pursuing higher studies without going through such narrow doors.
St. John Bosco, popularly known as Don Bosco, lived according to the signs of the time. He founded religious and educational society “Salesians of Don Bosco” for the education of the young. He was a great educationist of the 19th century whose pedagogy is based on “Reason, Religion and Kindness.” He did not visualise education in isolation from the needs of the society. Vocational training, guidance and job placements were integral part of his style of educating the young.
True to his spirit, much needed ‘Don Bosco College Tura’ was established in 1987 with the intention of bringing higher education to the people of Garo Hills. To meet the needs of the time, the management decided to de-link the Higher Secondary Section from the main campus in 2014 with a view to ensure quality education at the Plus Two level.
Within a short span of its existence, Don Bosco College Higher Secondary Section Tura, popularly known as DBCHSS has placed itself in a prominent spot in the educational map of Garo Hills and beyond. It has invested much for the growth and development of the younger generation and endeavoured to instil in them the passion for knowledge and learning. We welcome all aspiring young minds to join this family of Bosconians in pursuing knowledge to its excellence.
